Larian Kelab Penembak Klang 2010

Date: 10 Jan 2010
Time: 6.30am
Venue: Kelab Penembak Klang

One of the toughest and best route so far. Although the gun-off was pretty disorganized, worsen by the fact that runners having to run the first 400 meters in a dark, narrow estate road full of potholes hazards, the remaining 15km or so was a wonderful experience.

Similar to the streets in San Francisco or some of the roads in the US, it is a straight 6km stretch of roller coaster-like trunk road with ascends/descends that measures to as much as 50+ meters. Runners get to run to the end and back again. I lost my count on the number of 'swells' but I heard there are almost 14 altogether to and fro. But it is not only the terrain that might defeat the will power of the runner, but more likely the view..as one can see what is waiting in the next 3 km stretch visibly..hills after hills after hills in front of you..almost endless. And almost no flats in between.

So those who has experienced the mental challenging view during the Penang Bridge Marathon of the forever endless bridge...this is similar, with the extra bonus hills thrown in. Personally I find the route fantastic, and the challenge very fulfilling, especially with the view, air, and the quiet road.

We look forward that the organisers will organised run around this area again, but do improve on the starting location and procedures as some of the runners had the disadvantage of late start.
